Partly adapted from the novel ‘Point Five Someone’ by Chetan Bhagat, Three Idiots is a mega-entertainer of the year 2009. Rajkumar Hirani, as usual has woven his magic to direct one of the most outstanding films to have been made in a while. The way he has portrayed college life, makes you want to go back to college once again and relive the exciting life of a college student.
Although, the film revolves around the three idiots, Rancho (Aamir Khan), Raju (Sharman Joshi) and Farhan (R Madhavan), our sizzling hot Kareena Kapoor (Pia) makes her presence obvious as the daughter of the director, Viru Sahasrabuddhe (Boman Irani), a stickler for discipline and a task master as far as studies are concerned.
As always, our very own Bebo (Kareena) looks great on screen, whether she wears glamorous clothes or dresses simply as a middle-class girl aspiring to be a doctor and her acting skills are commendable too. She is Rancho’s love interest in the film and there are several humorous episodes between the two that recreate the joys of youth.
Her reluctance to adopt Rancho’s sir name (Jhanjhar) after marriage is funny, which turns out to be funnier when she discovers that his real name (Hansuk Wangdu) is equally ridiculous. No other actress could have made herself prominent in a totally male oriented film, but Kareena Kapoor takes the cake. She matches Aamir’s acting calibre with one of her own, standing her ground firm as ever.
It is great to see how much talent the girl has, as she displays a range of emotions and facial expressions. She is no dumb beauty, she has the panache as well as talent and combined with good looks and great sex appeal, Kareena proves yet again that she is here to stay for a long-long time to come.
