Kareena -Shahid’ failed to create magic in “MilengeMilenge” ¹

Kareena-Shahid have shown their amazing chemistry in 2007 block buster “Jab We Met” but the duo failed to create the same passion in their latest release: “MilengeMilenge”, which actually had been locked in a dusty box since last five years and somehow managed to reach the box-office. “MilengeMilenge’s” story, plot, dialogues even choreography and music too seems very boring and baasi.

In the modern era of instant love, speed dating, live in relationships, multi relationships& frequent breakups, “MilengeMilenge” got stuck with the old concept of destiny oriented love story which looks very artificial in comparison of today’s reality. Well, a good director could present a simple and old storyalso in a terrific way like Karan Johar, Yash Chopra, but not only the story, in fact the film lacks in every department such as direction, loose screenplay, dialogues, cinematography, art direction,editing, music and dance numbers.

Still if you wish to know the story, here it is…
The “MilengeMilenge’s” story moves around an orphan girl Priyanka( Kareena) and a rich boy Amit ( Shahid). Priyanka aka Priya always dreams to have her own happy family one day. She dreams of a husband who is loving and caring but he never booze, smoke or tells lie. On the other side, Amit (ShahidKapoor) is a nice, cool, mod young man who is good at heart but does all the things which Priya hates in her man.

Priya’s friend’s (played by Delnaaz Paul) mom Mrs. SunitaRao(KirronKher) tells Priya that she will soon travel outside India and will meet her true love of life there in next 7 days. Next day, Priya gets selected for participating in the youth festival going to be held in Bankok. Priya goes there and meets Amit. Amit sees Priya and starts liking her. He somehow gets Priya’s diary and does exactly the same things to impress her. Soon, they start dating and one day Amit decides to quit all bad habits what Priya hates but same day, Priya comes to know the diary’s truth and breaks up with Amit. Amit asked her to give him a last chance but Priya decides to leave the future of their love to destiny.

Amit writes his name and phone number in a 50 rs note and Priya buys a notebook from this money and then writes her full name & phone number in the notebook and gives it to an old book shop. According to Priya, if she and Amit are destined to be together, they will find the rupee and notebook again someday. Afterwards, lots of situations happen, when they cross their ways but never be able to meet one-another, finally after few years, they are engaged to different people and going to marry soon.

Now, Priya finds note and Amit finds the notebook. Both are sure now that they are born to be together and run to meet each other.Amit’s fiancée (played by ArtiChabaria) helps him in meeting Priya.

Well, the only positive thing about Milenge-Milenge” is few scenes between Kareena Kapoor&Shahid where they remain somewhat successful to present the same emotions and passion towards each other what they used to have earlier. So guys, if you are fan of Shahid-Kareenajodi and want to see Kareena’s old goddy looks before turning to size zero icon with chocolaty boyShahid. or if you are still living in dreamland love stories like Yashraj’s films, “Na Tum Jano Na Hum”, “Dil to PagalHai” or if you like HimeshReshamiya’s music then go for the movie else you should give it a miss.
