After having cast her as ‘Poo’ in K3G, Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor became good friends and Karan offered her a role in his next venture ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, but Kareena refused to do the film. This struck a cold war between the two and they did not work together for a long time.

Karan Johar has often mentioned that when he was casting for “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”, he had seen Kareena at a party and had been enamoured by her beauty and the way she held herself and had instantly thought, “Well that’s my Poo!” That was how Kareena Kapoor had bagged the role of “Poo” in K3G and for surely she received great admiration for it.

Karan and Kareena became good friends thereon, so it was apparent that he offered her a role in his next venture “Kal Ho Na Ho”. Surprisingly Kareena refused to do the film, the reason for which is not known clearly. While some say that she was not happy with the fee he was offering her for the role, others say that she did not believe in Nikhil Advani’s directorial skills and wanted Karan Johar to direct the film. Whatever the reason was for this refusal, it did not go down well with Karan and the close friendship turned into a cold war between the two.

Preity Zinta stepped into the role of Naina in KHNH and the film turned out to be a huge hit getting Preity several Best Actress awards for her brilliant portrayal. The cold war between Kareena and Karan lasted quite a while before they let go of their hurt and got together for “We Are Family”. Way to go Kareena!
